Azerbaijan, Bulgaria bolster economic ties at Baku meeting

The 6th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Bulgaria on economic cooperation was held in Baku.

Before the main event, a bilateral meeting took place between Azerbaijan's co-chair of the intergovernmental commission, Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov, and Bulgaria's co-chair, Energy Minister Vladimir Malinov, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

During the discussions, both sides explored opportunities for bilateral cooperation across various sectors and prospects for future collaboration.

Following this, both co-chairs addressed the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, which included delegations from both countries.

Minister of Agriculture Majnun Mammadov highlighted the steadily developing relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria, emphasizing the potential for enhanced economic cooperation.

He noted the importance of jointly organized business forums, regular exchange of information about export-oriented and competitive products, and mutual participation in international exhibitions to strengthen business ties.

Mammadov also provided an update on the reconstruction and restoration efforts in Azerbaijan's liberated territories.

Bulgarian Minister Vladimir Malinov expressed his country's eagerness to explore all opportunities for cooperation with Azerbaijan in areas such as trade, industry, investments, energy, transport, agriculture, defense, tourism, and culture. He described Azerbaijan as Bulgaria's strategic partner in energy and discussed the expansion of economic relations between the two nations.

In conclusion, a protocol on the outcomes of the 6th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission was signed. Both sides agreed to hold the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission in Bulgaria in 2025.
