Azerbaijan, Burundi ambassadors discuss strengthening of bilateral relations
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Burundian Ruslan Nasibov discussed strengthening of bilateral relations with his Burundian counterpart Willy Nyamitwe.
“Ambassador Willy Nyamitwe of Burundi had the pleasure of meeting H.E. Ruslan Nasibov Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Burundian. Their discussion focused on strengthening bilateral relations and exploring opportunities for fruitful cooperation between the 2 nations,” Burundi Embassy in Addis Ababa said on its X page, per Caliber.Az.
For its part, the Azerbaijani diplomat expressed satisfaction with the meeting in his social network account, emphasizing that there was an “open exchange of views on bilateral relations” and prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
Notably, diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Burundi were established on March 2, 1995, through the signing of the Protocol on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations.
Azerbaijan and Burundi enjoy friendly and cooperative ties, with significant potential for growth in political, economic, trade, and investment sectors. Both nations also collaborate on issues of mutual interest within international organizations.
In the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan, an Azerbaijan-Burundi inter-parliamentary working group facilitates the development of bilateral ties. Currently, relations between the two countries are primarily conducted within the framework of international organizations, providing a solid foundation for further strengthening and expanding cooperation.
