Azerbaijan calls for ceasefire, humanitarian access in Gaza at OIC meeting PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev on August 25 urged urgent steps toward a ceasefire in Gaza and the facilitation of humanitarian aid, during an extraordinary session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
In his remarks, Rafiyev underscored Azerbaijan’s support for a resolution of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict based on the two-state solution, in accordance with international law and UN Security Council resolutions, Caliber.Az reports via Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry.
He said Azerbaijan remains committed to backing diplomatic efforts within the OIC framework and reaffirmed Baku’s readiness to continue providing humanitarian assistance to the Palestinian people.
The meeting, convened amid escalating violence in Gaza, voiced deep concern over the continuing military confrontation and humanitarian crisis in the territory, stressing the need for immediate and decisive action to end the hostilities.
