Azerbaijan, China discuss boosting interparliamentary ties

Chair of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has met with Chinese Ambassador Lu Mei to discuss ways to enhance parliamentary cooperation.

During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction with the development of the strategic partnership between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

They also noted that interparliamentary relations form an important component of bilateral ties, and the parties emphasised the importance of developing parliamentary cooperation, including links between friendship groups and parliamentary committees.

Opportunities to further deepen relations were also discussed.

“The parties at the meeting noted that Azerbaijan and China also cooperate within international organisations, and emphasised that the countries consistently support each other’s territorial integrity and sovereignty,” the statement said.
