Azerbaijan, China strengthen military cooperation at Beijing security forum PHOTO

Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, Minister of Defence of Azerbaijan, accompanied by senior officials from the Ministry, is currently on a working visit to Beijing to participate in the 12th Xiangshan Forum.

The visit is taking place at the invitation of Admiral Dong Jun, Minister of National Defence of China, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.

On September 18, Minister Hasanov attended the official opening ceremony of the forum, which is convened under the theme “Upholding International Order and Promoting Peaceful Development.”

During the forum, Colonel General Hasanov held a bilateral meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Admiral Dong Jun. The discussions focused on the current state and future trajectory of military cooperation between Azerbaijan and China, featuring an in-depth exchange of views on a broad spectrum of mutual interests.

The Xiangshan Forum, which runs through September 19, brings together defence chiefs from over 100 countries, alongside representatives from international organizations, research institutions, senior military leaders, and prominent experts in the fields of military and security affairs.
