As per the approved training plan for the current year by Defense Minister Col-Gen Zakir Hasanov, tactical exercises, codenamed "Caspian Sky-2024," were recently executed to bolster air defense operations.
The Defence Ministry informed Caliber.Az that the exercises, which saw the participation of the Navy and Air Force, engaged up to 300 personnel, combat and patrol ships, boats, combat helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicles.
During the tactical maneuvers, vessels responded to alarm signals by departing from their base points. Collaborating with Air Force aviation assets, they executed practical actions in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea, focusing on organizing air defense for marine energy infrastructure and neutralizing hypothetical enemy targets, among other combat missions.
Furthermore, the exercises included successful demonstrations of ship anchoring and un-anchoring, as well as the coordination of air defense and counter-underwater sabotage operations.
The exercises unfolded across two stages, during which the personnel of the Navy and Air Force showcased exemplary professionalism, effectively executing all assigned tasks.
