Azerbaijan congratulates Croatia on Statehood Day

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has congratulated Croatia on its national holiday - Statehood Day.

“On the occasion of the National Day of Croatia, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to the government and people of Croatia! Happy Statehood Day, Croatia!” Caliber.Az quotes the Foreign Ministry as saying on Twitter.

On December 28, 1991, Croatia recognized the independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan and diplomatic relations between the two countries were established on January 26, 1995.

The strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Croatia is based on the Zagreb Declaration on Strategic Partnership and Friendship between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Croatia, which was signed on March 11, 2013.

The two states also successfully cooperate within international organisations and mutual support on important strategic issues.
As for economic cooperation, more than 20 Croatian companies have been registered and operate in Azerbaijan in such areas as information technology, oil industry, energy, and railway infrastructure.
