Azerbaijan congratulates Sudan on Independence Day

On January 1, 2025, Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs extended heartfelt congratulations to Sudan on its National Day, marking the anniversary of the country’s independence.

A statement posted on the ministry's official page on the social media platform X read: “Happy National Day, Sudan!” Caliber.Az reports.

Sudan declared its independence on January 1, 1956, after having been under joint British and Egyptian rule. This historic day is celebrated annually as Sudan’s National Day, commemorating the country's sovereignty and the end of colonial rule.
