Azerbaijan considered as host for next PostEurop general assembly
Azerbaijan may host next year’s General Assembly of PostEurop, the association representing European public postal operators.
The proposal was discussed during a meeting in Dubai between Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Sameddin Asadov, PostEurop Secretary General Botond Szebeny, and Chair of the Board of Directors Elena Fernández Rodríguez. The talks took place on the sidelines of the 28th Universal Postal Union (UPU) Congress, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
At the meeting, support was voiced for Azerbaijan’s candidacy to the UPU’s Postal Operations Council and Administrative Council.
The sides also highlighted the importance of strengthening international cooperation in the postal sector and explored opportunities for digitalisation and innovative approaches in postal services.
