Azerbaijan, Croatia explore expanding trade, energy cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy, Mikayil Jabbarov, recently visited Croatia, where he met with Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković to discuss the expansion of bilateral economic cooperation.
The visit was marked by the Croatia-Azerbaijan Economy and Investment Forum held in Zagreb, which highlighted the investment potential of both nations and explored avenues for increasing joint investments, Caliber.Az reports citing the Ministry of Economy.
The two countries have been strengthening their strategic partnership since the signing of the Zagreb Declaration in 2013, and their relations have continued to develop positively, thanks to the political will of the Azerbaijani and Croatian leaders. During the discussions, Prime Minister Plenković and Minister Jabbarov focused on enhancing trade turnover, mutual investments, and energy cooperation, as well as exploring further opportunities for expanding business ties.
The forum saw Croatian Economy Minister Ante Šušnjar express his country's commitment to deepening trade and economic relations with Azerbaijan. He underscored the importance of Azerbaijan’s role as a reliable energy supplier to European markets, noting the growing interest from Croatian companies in participating in Azerbaijani economic projects.
Minister Jabbarov highlighted the significant progress made in economic relations between the two nations, pointing out that Croatia is an important trade partner for Azerbaijan. He also emphasized the strengthening of investment ties, noting that the partnership between state and private companies in both countries is flourishing.
Furthermore, Minister Jabbarov spoke about Azerbaijan's diverse economic priorities and the opportunities for Croatian investors, particularly in sectors such as textiles, transport and logistics, food industries, pharmaceuticals, construction, agriculture, green energy, and tourism.
The forum also included insightful presentations on the business and investment climate in both Croatia and Azerbaijan. Panel discussions centered around key themes such as "Energy Security and Investment Diversification: Cooperation Between Croatia and Azerbaijan" and "Building Strategic Investment Cooperation: Industrial and Trade Partnerships."
The event featured a series of B2B meetings aimed at fostering closer ties between business communities in both countries, facilitating discussions on joint ventures and future collaboration. The forum successfully underscored the potential for increased cooperation and investment between Croatia and Azerbaijan, signaling a bright future for bilateral relations.
