Azerbaijan, Cuba focus on strengthening ties, cooperation ahead of COP29

Azerbaijani Ambassador to Cuba Ruslan Rzayev has met with the country's Minister of Science, Technology and Environment Eduardo Martinez Diaz.

The Azerbaijani Embassy in Cuba has told AZERTAC that the meeting pointed out the historical friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Cuba and hailed the recent development of bilateral relations. The sides discussed opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the spheres of science, technology and environment, as well as issues related to the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change to be held in Baku.

The minister congratulated Azerbaijan on being chosen a host of COP29 and affirmed Cuba’s readiness to support the country in this regard.

The sides exchanged views on other issues of mutual interest.
