Azerbaijan, Czech Republic explore new cooperation on renewable energy
Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic are considering new joint projects aimed at expanding renewable energy production and modernising Azerbaijan’s electricity distribution network, according to Czech Ambassador to Azerbaijan Milan Sedláček.
In an interview with Report, Sedláček highlighted the positive results of an ongoing modernisation project at a hydroelectric power plant, noting that the upgrades have improved efficiency and extended the facility’s operational lifespan. He said both sides are now looking at additional opportunities in clean energy and grid development.
The ambassador emphasised that Czech companies are well positioned to contribute to infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan, including smart grids and energy storage systems. He added that the Czech Republic is ready to share its expertise in renewable energy technologies such as bioenergy, waste utilisation, and waste management.
