Azerbaijan delivers note of protest to EU ambassador Over resolution by European Parliament
EU ambassador to Azerbaijan Peter Michalko was summoned to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry on October 25 and a note of protest was delivered to him.
The ministry firmly condemned the resolution adopted by the European Parliament on October 24, as well as the unfounded and biased statements made by the European Commissioner during discussions, the ministry told Caliber.Az.
The ministry stressed that the ongoing smear campaign against Azerbaijan through various EU institutions, along with statements and actions that threaten the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, as well as interference in the country’s internal affairs, contribute to revanchism in Armenia and undermine efforts to establish peace in the region.
Moreover, the ministry highlighted that Azerbaijan seeks to build its relationship with the EU based on the principles of international law, mutual respect, and equality, urging the EU to adhere to these principles as strictly as well.
The Azerbaijani side called on the EU to refrain from actions that undermine Azerbaijan's sovereignty and territorial integrity and that threaten stability in the region.
The European Parliament has adopted another slanderous resolution with content that contradicts the facts and international law, constituting an infringement upon the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.
