Azerbaijan demands impartial punishment for Tehran embassy attackers

All responsibility for the terrorist act against the Azerbaijani embassy in Tehran lies with the Iranian side, said Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova.

Gafarova's remarks came at the session of the 17th Conference of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on January 30, per Report.

Speaking of the January 27 attack on the Azerbaijani embassy in Iran, Gafarova strongly condemned the attack, noting that it caused a serious international reaction.

The speaker recalled that the Iranian side had to fulfil its obligations arising from the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations regarding the security of embassies and their employees.

"We demand that the perpetrators and masterminds of this terrorist attack be identified as soon as possible and punished in the most impartial way," she said.
