Azerbaijan denies holding Armenian "prisoners" labeling them as criminals
The people whom Armenia calls "prisoners" are criminals sent by Armenia to Azerbaijan two weeks after the signing of the tripartite statement on November 10, 2020, said the Spokesperson for the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan, Aykhan Hajizada.
According to him, international courts rejected the measures requested by Armenia for their release, Caliber.Az reports.
Hajizada's remarks came on March 24 on Twitter in response to accusations by the Armenian Foreign Ministry about the presence of Armenian prisoners in Azerbaijan.
He added that Armenia still has not provided information about the 3,800 missing Azerbaijanis.
“Armenia has subjected about one million Azerbaijanis to ethnic cleansing. Armenia hinders the safe return of refugees and internally displaced persons,” Hajiazada said, noting that Armenia must give up aggressive rhetoric that damages peacekeeping efforts in the region.
