Azerbaijan dramatically increases crude oil exports to Italy in early 2025
Azerbaijan has markedly expanded its crude oil exports to Italy during the first eight months of 2025, the State Customs Committee announced.
Between January and August, Azerbaijan exported approximately 9.2 million tons of crude oil to Italy, with a total value of $4.8 billion. This represents a substantial increase of 47.7% in volume and a 21.8% rise in export value compared to the same period in 2024, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
Crucially, the volume of oil shipped to Italy accounted for nearly 58% (57.76%) of Azerbaijan’s overall crude oil exports during this period, underscoring Italy’s status as a key market for Azerbaijani energy resources.
In total, Azerbaijan’s crude oil exports reached nearly 15.9 million tons from January through August 2025, valued at approximately $8.4 billion, reflecting the country’s ongoing role as a significant player in the global oil market.
