Azerbaijan emerges as influential force in global affairs, says expert PHOTO

Azerbaijan has become a country with growing influence on the international stage, political analyst and former state adviser Eldar Namazov said, stressing that the world is not shaped solely by the interests of the United States, Russia and other major powers.

Speaking during the event “Azerbaijan as a Middle Power: Foreign Policy, Regional Influence and Global Engagement,” organised by the Centre of Analysis of International Relations (AIR Centre), Namazov stated that Azerbaijan is influencing regional and global political and economic processes through its military and economic strength, successful foreign policy, and the leadership of the country's president, Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports.

“Being the leading country in such an important region is a major achievement. The Middle Corridor, the North–South and East–West transport corridors, energy projects, the great victory in the 2020 Patriotic War, and many other factors have strengthened the importance of our state. 

However, we must continue moving forward, because middle-power status is not permanent — global competition is growing. Therefore, it is necessary to take action to preserve and further strengthen this position,” Namazov emphasised.
