Azerbaijan establishes working group to address number of issues in Garabagh
A working group headed by Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev has been set up on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev to solve social, humanitarian, economic, and infrastructural issues in the Garabagh region.
Caliber.Az reports citing the message of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan that the working group operates within the Coordination Headquarters for centralised resolution of issues in the territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan liberated from occupation.
The working group includes the Ministries of Economy, Labour and Social Protection, Agriculture, Internal Affairs, Health, Science and Education, Azerenerji, Azerishig, Azerigaz Production Association, State Road Agency, and other relevant departments.
Since September 20, 2023, the working group has carried out the following activities:
- On September 22, 2 trucks with 40 tonnes of food and hygiene products, as well as 2 vehicles with bread for the residents of Armenian origin were sent by the Ministry of Emergency Situations along the Aghdam-Askeran-Khankendi road;
- In order to provide first aid and food for Armenian residents, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has set up tent sites for 1,000 people in Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Kalbajar. The Armenian residents are receiving medical assistance and on-site support from police, military and civilian personnel;
- Dispatch of fuel and lubricants, work of kindergartens, ambulance, and fire services will be provided at the request of the Armenian residents' representatives announced at the September 21 meeting in the town of Yevlakh;
- The Lachin-Khankendi road is being used to ensure the passage of food and daily consumption goods for the personnel of the Russian peacekeeping forces and for delivery to the civilian population through the peacekeepers;
