Azerbaijan, EU hold fifth round of Security Dialogue
Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Affairs of the Presidential Administration Hikmat Hajiyev has held the fifth round of Security Dialogue between Azerbaijan and the European Union with Deputy Secretary General and Political Director at the European External Action Service.
“We had 5th round of security dialogue between Azerbaijan-European Union. We discussed further development of EU-Azerbaijan partnership, regional/global issues of mutual interest. It was stressed that Azerbaijan is valuable and reliable partner of EU,” Report informs citing Hajiyev’s message on X.
Discussions during the Azerbaijan-European Union Security Dialogue covered various topics, including the current situation and realities in the region during the post-conflict period, progress in the normalisation process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, combating the threat of mines in the liberated territories, regional and international security issues, and prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and the European Union across different fields.
The EU side emphasised Azerbaijan's pivotal role in ensuring stability and development in the region during the post-conflict period, acknowledged the country's contribution to European security, and expressed interest in further enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation with Azerbaijan in various sectors.
