Azerbaijan, US Chamber of Commerce discuss partnership in key sectors

On February 10, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with a US Chamber of Commerce delegation, led by Senior Vice President Khush Choksy, to explore opportunities for strategic partnership, trade, energy, and investment.

The delegation included executives and representatives from 31 companies, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.

Discussions focused on steps to establish a strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States, the current state of bilateral cooperation in energy, trade, transport, logistics, and regional communications—including the TRIPP route—as well as investment opportunities in key sectors and prospects for collaboration with the US private sector.

Both sides praised the contacts and discussions following the Washington Summit on August 8 last year, held in preparation for the Strategic Partnership Charter. It was emphasised that the signing of the charter would provide additional momentum to Azerbaijan–US relations.

The meeting also included exchanges on Azerbaijan’s key role in regional energy security, the importance of developing renewable energy, and diversifying trade routes in the Middle Corridor. 

Participants highlighted the country’s favourable business and investment climate and opportunities for establishing new partnerships.
