Azerbaijan exports 7.9 million tonnes of oil in January–April
Azerbaijan exported 7,923,086.69 tonnes of crude oil and petroleum products derived from bituminous rocks in January–April this year, according to the State Customs Committee.
The value of crude oil exports amounted to $4.37 billion in the same period, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Compared with the corresponding period in 2025, export volumes declined by 3.42 per cent, while export value fell by 4.33 per cent.
Crude oil and petroleum products accounted for 36.75 per cent of Azerbaijan’s total exports during the four months.
Overall, Azerbaijan conducted foreign trade operations worth $17.4 billion in January–April, with exports totalling $11.88 billion and imports standing at $5.53 billion.
Compared with the same period last year, exports increased by 35.2 per cent, while imports declined by 32.1 per cent.
Over the same period, Azerbaijan exported just over 8.416 billion cubic metres of natural gas, worth approximately $2.536 billion, according to the State Customs Committee.
Gas export volumes rose by 3.14 per cent year-on-year, while their value decreased by 17.28 per cent.
Natural gas accounted for 21.35 per cent of total exports during the period.
Overall foreign trade turnover reached $17.403 billion in the first four months of 2026, up 2.9 per cent year-on-year. Exports totalled $11.879 billion, while imports amounted to $5.525 billion.
As a result, Azerbaijan recorded a trade surplus of $6.354 billion, which is 9.7 times higher than in the corresponding period last year.
