Azerbaijan finalizes bold digital economy strategy with global partnerships
Azerbaijan has officially finalized its digital economy strategy, Fariz Jafarov, Executive Director of 4SIM Azerbaijan, announced.
The strategy, which has been under development since last year, includes 51 major initiatives set for implementation through 2030, Caliber.Az reports.
Jafarov shared this update during the panel discussion “Diving into Digital and Meta-Digital Economy” at the Chain Reaction 2024 forum. He emphasized that the strategy is designed to foster a comprehensive digital transformation across various sectors.
In the past year, 10,000 individuals have completed a free online education program. Moving forward, Azerbaijan aims to extend this initiative by funding online education for an additional 200,000 people through 8,000 programs. This expansion will feature online courses provided by major organizations such as Google, Meta, Amazon, and renowned universities including Stanford, Yale, and the University of Michigan.
Jafarov highlighted the commitment to significant investments in continuous training for citizens. The strategy will also support 650 companies in their digital transformation processes and participation in Industry 4.0 projects, ensuring that Azerbaijan's workforce is equipped to meet the demands of the evolving digital landscape.
