Azerbaijan, France discuss Middle East tensions in ministerial phone call

Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation with his French counterpart Jean-Noël Barrot to discuss rising tensions in the Middle East and the increasing military escalation in the region.

Both ministers noted that further aggravation of the situation could pose serious risks to regional and international security, emphasising the need to resume diplomatic efforts and dialogue, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Foreign Ministry.

Barrot expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support in evacuating French citizens from Iran under challenging conditions and highlighted the importance of continued cooperation in this area.

The two ministers also exchanged views on the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France.

They underscored that, following a recent meeting between their heads of state in Copenhagen, maintaining dialogue on areas of mutual interest remains a priority.
