12 February 2025 20:54

Chairman of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee of the Georgian Parliament Shota Berekiahvili and Chairman of the Committee for Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising of the Azerbaijani Parliament Azer Amiraslanov have discussed strengthening the bilateral strategic partnership in Tbilisi.

The sides emphasised the significance of the transport corridor and its vast transit potential, which plays a key role in enhancing regional connectivity and trade flows, Caliber.Az reports via local media.

Berekiahvili highlighted that trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Georgia has surpassed $1.3 billion, with $780 million attributed to exports between the two countries.

He stressed that both sides are committed to increasing the volume of trade in the future, aiming for continued economic growth and deeper collaboration.

He also noted Azerbaijan's significant investments in Georgia, pointing to numerous Azerbaijani companies operating in Georgia, including the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR), alongside development companies and banks.
