Azerbaijan highlights growing mediation role in regional, global diplomacy
Azerbaijan is increasingly acting as a mediator in international disputes and contributing to global peace efforts, according to Member of the country’s Parliament Fariz Ismailzada.
He said Azerbaijan has recently hosted or facilitated discussions involving multiple parties in conflict, underscoring the country’s expanding diplomatic role, Caliber.Az reports.
Speaking to journalists, Ismailzada said Azerbaijan had hosted negotiations involving Israel and Turkey, Israel and Syria, as well as contacts between NATO and Russia.
He added that Azerbaijan has also contributed to international stability through peacekeeping missions in Iraq and Afghanistan and by providing humanitarian assistance to more than 40 countries worldwide.
“Azerbaijan is actively playing the role of a mediator, promoting peace around the world,” Ismailzade said.
The lawmaker also pointed to Azerbaijan’s ongoing development of policies focused on green energy and the establishment of green corridors, describing them as part of the country’s broader international engagement strategy.
