Azerbaijan highlights its role in diversifying Eurasian trade to US delegation PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s role in diversifying global trade and energy routes was highlighted during discussions with a US Certified Trade Mission delegation, as Baku pitched new opportunities along the Middle Corridor and the strategically important Zangezur Corridor project.
Azerbaijani Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov underlined the potential of the Zangezur Corridor project or "Trump Route" (TRIPP) to provide unhindered access to the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic while opening fresh prospects for Azerbaijani-American cooperation, Caliber.Az reports via Economy Ministry.
The talks also emphasised the significance of expanding the strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the United States in strengthening trade and energy connectivity across Eurasia.
Azerbaijan’s growing transit position, major infrastructure projects and initiatives to boost cargo flows between Europe and Asia were presented, alongside the country’s deepening ties with Central Asian states in this direction.
The US delegation was also briefed on Azerbaijan’s contribution to Europe’s energy security, including renewable energy projects designed for export to the continent.
Jabbarov invited American businesses to take advantage of Azerbaijan’s favourable investment climate, noting opportunities in trade, energy, infrastructure and logistics.
The meeting focused on familiarising US companies with these prospects and exploring avenues for future cooperation.
