Azerbaijan hosts Italian special forces for strategic partnership talks
Representatives of the Special Forces of Azerbaijan and Italy convened for a high-level expert meeting aimed at enhancing bilateral military cooperation and exchanging professional insights.
The event took place during the Italian delegation’s official visit to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan’s Defence Ministry.
As part of their visit, the Italian delegation toured a key military unit of the Azerbaijan Special Forces. The delegation paid homage by laying flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the military base, as well as at the memorial complex dedicated to martyrs, honoring fallen heroes.
The Azerbaijani hosts provided a comprehensive briefing on the historical development, operational achievements, and combat experience of the Azerbaijan Special Forces. The Italian delegation engaged actively, posing questions which were thoroughly addressed during the session.
The expert meeting fostered a broad exchange of views on prospects for joint cooperation and areas of mutual strategic interest. The delegation received detailed presentations on the Azerbaijan Special Forces’ arsenal, including unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), weaponry, and other specialized equipment currently deployed in their operations.
To conclude the visit, the Italian representatives observed exemplary combat training demonstrations, showcasing the high level of preparedness and tactical proficiency of Azerbaijan’s elite forces.
