Azerbaijan, Int’l Civil Defence Organisation discuss demining
Azerbaijani Emergencies Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov and International Civil Defence Organisation (IHO) Secretary-General Nzhupuo Yap Mariatu have met to discuss the demining operations liberated from Armenia’s decades-long occupation.
Heydarov thanked Mariatu for providing the Emergencies Ministry Academy with special training complexes, including a number of training equipment and laboratory devices, APA informs.
The minister also suggested considering the prospects for holding regional and international exercises, seminars and training sessions at the academy through the International Civil Defence Organisation.
Mariatu stressed the importance of Azerbaijan's re-election as a member of the organisation’s Executive Council for the next four years at the session of the ICDO General Assembly held in November last year.
Noting that the development of cooperation relations is beneficial to both sides, the guest noted that mutual visits, joint exercises and seminars are an important contribution to this end. Issues of mutual interest were widely discussed at the meeting.
It should be noted that the delegation led by Mariatu is in Baku at Heydarov’s invitation.
