Azerbaijan interested in many weapons of Turkish production Defence minister's Türkiye visit
As part of the IDEF’23 16th International Defence Industry Fair held in Istanbul, on July 25, a meeting was held with the participation of the Minister of Defence of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, the Chief of State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Ali Naghiyev, and the Minister of National Defence of the Republic of Türkiye, General Yashar Guler.
The meeting discussed the current state of cooperation in military, military-technical, military-educational, military-medical and other spheres, as well as further development of the work done in this area, according to the press service of the Defence Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Earlier on the same day, Minister Hasanov, and other leadership of the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry participated in the opening ceremony of the IDEF‘23 16th International Defence Industry Fair in Istanbul.
The ministry's top brass got acquainted with the weapons, vehicles, and military equipment demonstrated at the stands of ASELSAN, ROKETSAN, DEARSAN and other companies of Türkiye.
During the tour at the exhibition, Minister Hasanov said Azerbaijan has been closely following the Turkish defence industry's novelties. According to thim, there are multiple cooperation agreements signed between the two countries, as well as Baku and Ankara are involved in series of joint projects.
"Azerbaijan is interested in many weapons and equipment of Turkish production," he said not disclosing the details.
As part of the visit, Minister Hasanov also met with the Minister of Industry and Technology of Türkiye, Mehmet Fatih Kacır.
The prospects for the development of military-technical cooperation were discussed at the meeting, as well as detailed exchange of views on other issues of mutual interest was held.
