Azerbaijan, Iran senior officials hold talks on deepening partnership PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev met with a delegation led by Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to discuss the development of bilateral ties.
During the meeting, both sides positively assessed the progress of Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental relations across various fields, highlighting satisfaction with the current pace of political dialogue, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
The officials noted that the official visit of the Iranian president to Azerbaijan in April this year had opened a new chapter in the historically strong relationship between the two countries, built on a foundation of friendship and good neighbourliness.
Discussions covered a wide range of issues, including mutually beneficial cooperation and the prospects for expanding links in trade, the economy, transport, energy, water management, humanitarian matters, and other sectors.
Particular attention was given to the development of international transport and transit corridors crossing Azerbaijan and Iran, including joint projects aimed at enhancing the region’s transit potential.
