Azerbaijan, Iran sign protocol on joint use of Araz River resources PHOTO
The 53rd meeting of the Permanent Joint Commission of Azerbaijan and Iran on the use of water and energy resources of the Araz River was held in Tabriz.
Representatives of the Agency, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Azerbaijan and relevant institutions of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic took part in the meeting under the leadership of Zakir Guliyev, co-chairman of the joint commission and representative of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency, Report informs, citing the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency.
At the meeting, the Araz reservoir operation regime and water allocation issues between the two countries were discussed, special tables on the distribution of joint use of water and energy resources of the Araz River were prepared, and a protocol was signed.
