Azerbaijan, Iraq discuss security cooperation, joint action mechanisms
Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Iraq, Eldar Salimov, has met with Major General Hussein Jasim Akiber, Head of the International Cooperation Department at Iraq’s Ministry of Interior, to discuss bilateral security cooperation, according to diplomatic sources.
In a post on X, Ambassador Salimov said the meeting focused on a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on security cooperation and the development of mechanisms for joint action between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports.

“Pleased to meet Maj. Gen. Dr. Hussein Jassim Akiber, Head of Intl. Cooperation at the Iraqi Ministry of Interior. We discussed the MoU on security cooperation and mechanisms for joint action,” Salimov wrote.
