Azerbaijan, Italy boost military-technical cooperation PHOTO

Azerbaijan's Minister of Defence, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, has met with a delegation led by Admiral Giacinto Ottaviani, National Armaments Director at the Italian Ministry of Defence, to discuss the further development of bilateral defence ties.

During the meeting, Hasanov praised the defence cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy, describing it as being built on the foundation of the two countries' strategic partnership. He emphasized that Azerbaijan–Italy relations hold particular importance across all areas, including the military sphere, Caliber.Az reports, citing Azerbaijan's Defence Ministry.

Admiral Ottaviani thanked the Azerbaijani side for the warm reception and hospitality extended to the Italian delegation. He underlined the importance of reciprocal visits and the exchange of experience in strengthening bilateral cooperation.

The Italian official also expressed confidence that enhanced military cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy would make a significant contribution to strengthening the defence capabilities of both countries.

The meeting, attended by Italian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Luca Di Gianfrancesco, also featured an exchange of views on issues of mutual interest, including military cooperation, defence-technical collaboration, and cooperation in military education.
