Azerbaijan, Italy explore collaborative efforts in demining initiatives

The Mine Action Agency of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) recently convened a meeting to discuss collaborative demining efforts with a delegation from Italy’s Ministry of Defence, accompanied by representatives from the Italian Embassy in Azerbaijan.

During the session, ANAMA provided a comprehensive overview of its operations, objectives, and the challenges posed by unexploded ordnance in territories liberated from occupation, Caliber.Az reports.

The agency emphasized the ongoing risks associated with landmines and the urgent need for effective demining strategies.

Discussions focused on potential avenues for cooperation between Azerbaijan and Italy in enhancing demining capabilities, with an emphasis on the possible support that Italy could offer in this vital area. The sides affirmed their commitment to fostering a partnership aimed at ensuring safety and stability in affected regions.
