A memorandum of understanding on cooperation has been concluded between the Agricultural Research Centre under the Ministry of Agriculture of Azerbaijan and the Council for Agricultural Research and Agricultural Economics, which operates under the supervision of Italy’s Ministry of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry.
According to Caliber.Az, the information was released by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The document was signed by Rashad Huseynov, Director of the Agricultural Research Centre, and Andrea Rocchi, President of the Italian Council. The signing ceremony took place in an online format.
The memorandum stipulates that over the next three years, the two sides will develop joint work plans and expand cooperation across a wide range of areas. These include the exchange of information and research materials, exchanges of scientific staff, joint work in organising relevant meetings and conferences, the preparation and implementation of joint scientific research projects aimed at developing agriculture and the agro-industrial sector, as well as participation in training and scholarship programs.
During the online meeting, Huseynov noted that cooperation between the two institutions should be shaped on the basis of historical experience and existing scientific potential. He stressed that this partnership should also open up new and innovative opportunities for researchers from both sides.
Huseynov emphasised that the key objectives of the cooperation are to identify joint research topics, promote the exchange of knowledge and expertise, and establish a sustainable, innovative environment that can support long-term development in the agricultural and agro-industrial fields.
