Azerbaijan, IUCN strengthen environmental partnership talks

Azerbaijani Presidential Envoy on Climate Issues, Mukhtar Babayev, has held a meeting with the Director General of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Grethel Aguilar, focusing on expanding cooperation in biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, and climate resilience. 

The discussions also highlighted opportunities for regional environmental initiatives and joint projects aimed at addressing shared ecological challenges, Babayev wrote on his official X account, Caliber.Az reports per local media.

The sides exchanged views on the increasing importance of regional cooperation in addressing interconnected climate and environmental challenges.

The meeting highlighted ongoing efforts to deepen collaboration between Azerbaijan and international environmental organizations in support of sustainable development and ecological protection initiatives.
