Azerbaijan, Japan discuss COP29 & environmental cooperation

Azerbaijani Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources Mukhtar Babayev met with Japanese Ambassador to Azerbaijan Katsuya Watanabe to discuss key environmental issues and preparations for the upcoming COP29 summit.

During the meeting, the two officials exchanged views on the preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), set to be held in Azerbaijan this November, Caliber.Az reports via local media. This significant event will gather global leaders and experts to address critical climate change challenges and formulate strategies for sustainable development.

In addition to COP29 preparations, Babayev and Watanabe discussed various environmental protection issues and explored opportunities for further cooperation between Azerbaijan and Japan.
