Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan discuss expanding media cooperation at Shusha Global Media Forum PHOTO
Hikmet Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, met Kanat Iskakov, Kazakhstan's First Vice Minister of Culture and Information, and Nurlan Bertysov, an official at the Ministry of Culture and Information, on the sidelines of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum.
The sides highlighted the allied nature of relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and discussed expanding cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), as well as strengthening collaboration in the media and information sector, Caliber.Az reports per local media.
Hajiyev stressed the importance of closer coordination within the OTS on issues related to social media platforms, the development of joint media content and a coordinated response to disinformation.
The meeting also covered the broadcasting of Azerbaijani television channels in Kazakhstan and Kazakh television channels in Azerbaijan.
Iskakov and Bertysov congratulated Azerbaijan on the organisation of the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum and praised President Ilham Aliyev's meeting with media representatives during the event, saying they appreciated his detailed and candid responses to numerous questions.
