Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan strengthen ties through discussions on Aktau Port's future
Azerbaijani Ambassador to Kazakhstan Agalar Atamoglanov met with Abay Turikpenbayev, Chairman of the Board of the JSC Aktau International Sea Trade Port, to discuss enhancing transport, logistics, and transit cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.
During the meeting, the ambassador was briefed on the port's infrastructure and its capacity to handle increased cargo traffic along the Middle Corridor, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Turikpenbayev highlighted plans to expand the port's potential and emphasized its growing importance as a strategic transport hub in recent years, especially due to the rise in cargo volume along the corridor.
Both sides stressed the importance of continuing effective cooperation between relevant Azerbaijani and Kazakhstani structures to support this growth.
The discussions underscore the increasing significance of the Aktau port in regional trade and logistics, as well as Azerbaijan's key role in the Middle Corridor initiative.
