Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan take key steps toward deeper educational cooperation PHOTO
Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are taking significant steps to strengthen their cooperation in the field of education, as demonstrated during a roundtable event held in Baku.
The event, hosted by ADA University, brought together rectors from 22 Kazakh universities, aiming to foster deeper ties between the two countries’ academic institutions, Caliber.Az reports citing local media.
Rector of ADA University, Hafiz Pashayev, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the Kazakh university leaders, stating, “I am pleased to welcome rectors of Kazakh universities. I hope we will have an opportunity to further strengthen our cooperation.”
The roundtable focused on bolstering educational collaboration, with 17 final documents on cooperation between universities in both countries expected to be signed following the discussions.
Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Alim Bayel, also addressed the gathering, highlighting the importance of deepening educational ties between the two nations. He emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan in all areas, particularly in the education sector.
“Both countries are also actively introducing reforms in education. We intend to further develop relations with Azerbaijan in the field of education,” Ambassador Bayel remarked.
Addressing the event, Kazakh Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek affirmed his country's readiness to strengthen its educational cooperation with Azerbaijan by sending faculty members to Karabakh University and offering opportunities for Kazakh students to study there.
Nurbek emphasized that the Kazakh government is committed to enhancing its collaboration with Azerbaijan in the education sector, underlining the importance of expanding academic exchange between the two countries. He stated, "Kazakhstan is ready to provide its teaching staff to Karabakh University, as well as offer students from Kazakhstan the opportunity to study there."
The Minister also pointed out that current geopolitical realities have created favorable conditions for students to pursue education in both Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. This initiative is part of a broader effort to strengthen bilateral ties and foster deeper cooperation in the field of higher education.
