Azerbaijan, Kenya advance digital partnership for smarter governance
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Kenya, Sultan Hajiyev, met with Kenya’s Minister of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, William Kabogo Gitau, to explore bilateral cooperation in the use of digital platforms.
The meeting was announced by the Ministry’s press service in a post on the social media platform X, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
“The Honourable William Kabogo Gitau, Minister of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy, today received a courtesy visit from the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Kenya, Sultan Hajiyev,” the post stated.
The two sides discussed “exploring opportunities for cooperation in leveraging digital platforms to enhance intergovernmental workflows” between Baku and Nairobi.
They also exchanged views on effective strategies for reducing analogue processes in Kenya, accelerating decision-making procedures, and consequently improving public service delivery.
“This aligns with the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), a Kenyan government initiative that emphasises the digitalisation and automation of key government functions with the aim of providing 80 per cent of public services online,” the ministry added.
