Azerbaijan — key partner for EU, says European Council chief

Azerbaijan is a key partner for the European Union, European Council President António Costa said in a post on X, sharing a photo of the Shirvanshahs’ Palace in central Baku.

“Today in Baku, looking forward to meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev,” Costa wrote on X, as per Caliber.Az.

In his post, Costa emphasised the significance of the strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, noting that relations with the EU have gained new momentum over the past year.

“We are committed to further deepening our relationship on security, energy, digital and transport. We will also discuss latest developments in view of the rapidly evolving geopolitical situation,” he added.
