Azerbaijan, Kuwait discuss military-technical cooperation

Azerbaijani Defence Industry Minister Madat Guliyev and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan Abdullah Mohamed Abdullah Almowed have met to discuss military and technical cooperation.

At the meeting, Madat Guliyev noted the existence of mutual respect and trust between Azerbaijan and Kuwait, and the high level of development of cooperation in political, economic and other spheres. The two officials focused on prospects of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Kuwait in the military-technical sphere, Caliber.Az reports.

The ambassador noted that he will make every effort to develop relations between Azerbaijan and Kuwait. He expressed satisfaction with the fact that the countries support each other on various international platforms and stressed the need to develop cooperation in various spheres of the economy and in the defence industry.

Kuwait and Azerbaijan are strongly linked in political, economic, social and other spheres.

Various agreements and memorandums of understanding were signed to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Kuwait Development Fund provided financial assistance to Azerbaijan in the amount of $34 million for the reconstruction of the Alat-Gazimammad road and the implementation of a number of projects such as the construction of the Baku ring road.

Kuwait also intended to invest in a number of important areas like energy, infrastructure, tourism and agriculture.
