Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan discuss Iran drone attacks in phone call
On 5 March 2026, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister, Jeyhun Bayramov, held a phone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Jeenbek Kulubayev, to discuss Iran’s recent drone attacks on Azerbaijani territory.
During the call, Minister Bayramov provided detailed information about the attacks, emphasising that they violate international law and escalate regional tensions. He stated that Iran should issue an apology, provide clarifications, and take measures to prevent similar incidents in the future, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Minister Kulubayev expressed Kyrgyzstan’s concern over the attacks and reaffirmed his country’s solidarity with Azerbaijan. Both ministers highlighted the importance of preventing further instability in the Middle East through diplomatic efforts and adherence to international law.
Kulubayev also thanked Azerbaijan for facilitating the transit of Kyrgyz citizens through its territory, noting that this operational support was highly appreciated. The call concluded with an exchange of views on other matters of mutual interest.
