Azerbaijan, Latvia discuss inter-parliamentary relations
Head of Parliament working group on Azerbaijani-Latvian inter-parliamentary relations Kamran Bayramov and member of the Committee on International Relations and Inter-Parliamentary Relations Asim Mollazade visited Latvia.
Report informs that during the visit, a meeting was held with Deputy Chairman of Latvian Seimas Janis Grasbergs, the secretary of the Latvian Seimas and head of the group for promoting cooperation with the Azerbaijani Parliament Armands Krause and other members of the group.
At the meeting with Janis Grasbergs, it was noted that inter-parliamentary relations are successfully developing between Azerbaijan and Latvia.
The sides emphasized the importance of continuing mutual visits between the two countries.
At the meeting, the parties also stressed the importance of continuing inter-parliamentary cooperation within the framework of various platforms and international organisations.
Furthermore, the members of the Cooperation Promotion Group held a meeting with Azerbaijani Parliament, where they were provided with detailed information on the main directions of Azerbaijan's foreign policy, including the new realities that have developed in the region after the Patriotic War, the peace agenda promoted by Azerbaijan, and large-scale restoration and construction works carried out in the territories liberated from the Armenian occupation.
