Azerbaijan, Latvia mark 30 years of diplomatic relations, strengthen strategic partnership
Azerbaijan-Latvia relations, based on a strong historical foundation, continue to thrive as the two countries celebrate the 30th anniversary of establishing diplomatic ties.
This was emphasized by Azerbaijan's Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev at an official reception held to commemorate the 106th anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia, Caliber.Az reports.
In his remarks, Rzayev highlighted the growing partnership between Azerbaijan and Latvia, noting that the 2017 joint declaration on strategic partnership, signed during the Azerbaijani President’s official visit to Latvia, significantly elevated the bilateral relations to a strategic level.
He further emphasized the ongoing political dialogue between the two nations, citing recent high-level exchanges, including a visit to Azerbaijan by the Speaker of the Latvian Saeima and a meeting between the foreign ministers in New York during the UN General Assembly.
Additionally, the 3rd meeting on the strategic dialogue between the foreign ministries was held in Riga, underscoring the regularity of diplomatic engagements.
Rzayev expressed confidence that through continued cooperation, the friendship and strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Latvia would further strengthen, benefiting both nations and their peoples.
