Azerbaijan, Maldives launch visa-free travel regime

A visa-free travel regime between Azerbaijan and the Maldives has officially entered into force following the completion of all required domestic procedures by both countries.
The agreement, signed on September 24, 2025, in New York, provides for the mutual abolition of visa requirements for holders of ordinary passports from both states.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, cited by Caliber.Az, the document has taken effect as of today in line with its provisions.
Under the terms of the agreement, citizens of Azerbaijan and the Maldives who hold valid ordinary passports are exempt from visa requirements for entry, exit, or transit, as well as for stays in the country not exceeding 90 days.
