Azerbaijan marks eight years since historic victory in April battles
Today marks the 8th anniversary of the April 2016 battles, triggered by yet another armed provocation by the occupiers.
During those battles, Azerbaijani army units launched a counteroffensive, not only suppressing enemy fire points but also liberating several strategic heights, including Lalatapa, securing the village of Jojug Marjanli in Jabrayil district and extensive territories in Fuzuli district, Caliber.Az writes.
Control over roads towards Agdara was also ensured. It was during these battles that the Azerbaijani army demonstrated brilliant drone management, catching the enemy off guard.
As a result of our army's strikes, up to 30 tanks, 25 artillery installations, and other enemy combat equipment were destroyed, with 300 to 500 servicemen killed (the exact numbers are still kept secret by the Armenian side), and over 500 fighters wounded.
During a meeting with a group of our military personnel, President Ilham Aliyev, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, said, "The April battles are our glorious military victory, demonstrating the strength of our state, people, and army.
