Azerbaijan, Montenegro discuss development of cooperation
Another round of political consultations between the foreign ministries of Azerbaijan and Montenegro was held in Podgorica on 2 April.
Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev headed the Azerbaijani delegation, while the delegation of Montenegro was led by State Secretary of the Foreign Ministry Miloslav Raspopovic, the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry told Caliber.Az.
During the consultations, the current state and prospects of development of cooperation between the two countries in political, economic and humanitarian spheres, as well as strategic energy and transport projects implemented by Azerbaijan were discussed. Issues of cooperation within international organisations were discussed.
The Montenegro delegation was informed about preparations for the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in November in Azerbaijan.
At the meeting, detailed information was provided on the situation in the region in the post-conflict period, steps taken by Azerbaijan to establish lasting peace in the region, the problem of mines in the territories liberated from occupation, reconstruction and construction works carried out here.
Rzayev held working meetings with other officials of Montenegro during the visit.
