Azerbaijan, Montenegro look to expand travel and investment partnerships
Montenegro’s Minister of Tourism, Simonida Kordic, held talks with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Montenegro, Kamil Khasiyev, on strengthening bilateral cooperation in the tourism sector.
According to the domestic press, Montenegro’s Ministry of Tourism said the discussions focused on expanding opportunities to boost tourist exchanges between the two countries.
Both sides highlighted the friendly relations between Montenegro and Azerbaijan and noted the strong potential for increasing the flow of visitors in both directions.
During the meeting, Kordic stated that the number of Azerbaijani tourists visiting Montenegro rose by 54% last year, demonstrating growing interest among Azerbaijani travellers.
She also recalled her meetings in Baku at the Investment Forum with Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of Azerbaijan’s State Tourism Agency, and Mikayil Jabbarov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Economy. In addition, she met with business representatives and potential investors.
The minister noted that Azerbaijan has invested more than €800 million in Montenegro, adding that given the strong investment potential and successful cooperation so far, further investments are expected to continue.
